Strip It!

Not literally...geez. Our upcoming Block of the Month, Chestnut & Vine is G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S! And it uses the Strip-It fabric designed by Faye Burgos from Marcus Brothers fabrics.
it's like you already sewed the strips together!
This fabric is perfect for making half-square triangles and borders for little blocks (like the ones in the quilt!) without actually having to do all that darn piecing. As you can see, the fabric is just gorgeous and there is just enough applique to make a statement.

Have any of you used Strip-It? It was also used in the Holidays at Home Block of the Month that we did last year.

I am excited about this one! How can you not love having a quilt that people will look at and think "wow! look at all that piecing!" Then you can say "Oh, yes, there sure was a lot!" and laugh to yourself because, hey, they'll never know it was really Strip-It fabric :)

The pattern is designed by Faye Burgos of Bloom Creek and the ladies here have had a great time putting it together! While it is being quilted now, I'll post the Marcus Brothers picture of it. When it's finished I'll post a picture of ours. You really just have to do the block of the month and see it in person because you'll fall in love with these prints.

Let me know your experiences with Strip-It and how much snow do you have?

  1. I haven't used the Strip-It fabric, but I am thinking it would make a quick and easy Bargello quilt!

  2. I have just encountered Strip-It in Anita G Solomon's book and I could not find online (except Marcus Fabrics) shops that stocks the strip-its. Do you know where I could find the rest of the collection?

  3. Just Google "strip it fabric marcus brothers" and that brings up several different shops that sell the Strip-It Fabric :)
